GETTING STARTED / 04

Create your own app

Follow the official docs to build and install your own game or interaction on AI Passport.

01

Understand the product capabilities

Design around the published display, button, connection, and audio capabilities. Start by defining the interaction and the device capabilities your app needs.

02

Let an AI coding tool start from the complete project

Use an AI coding tool such as Codex, Claude Code, or TRAE, then send the following message in the Agent conversation:

Prompt for the Agent
Build using the complete project at https://gitee.com/FoloToy/ai-passport; reuse a local checkout if available.
Read AGENTS.md and docs/README.md first, then consult relevant documentation, hardware interfaces, and examples as needed. Prepare the environment and install the Skills required by the project.
Preserve existing changes and develop on a new branch. Reuse the BSP and design a fresh application UI instead of copying the demo; check font coverage for Chinese text. Ask when key requirements are unclear and handle the rest autonomously.
Run project validation and deliver merged firmware flashable from 0x0. Report test results and anything unverified. When finished, proactively ask whether to test on hardware; do not flash without confirmation.

Explore more apps in folotoy/ai-passport. This is the complete AI Passport reference project, and developers at any experience level can use it to learn how to create new apps.

03

Create a repeatable build

Document the dependencies, build steps, and settings so other developers can build and install your app.

  • Document dependencies and build commands
  • Explain required configuration and recovery
  • Embed the app version and build identity
04

Test on a development device

Validate the display, controls, and connections on a development device first, and learn how to restore its default firmware.

05

Install your firmware

Open the web flasher and select the firmware file you built. Your browser reads the file locally; it isn’t uploaded.

Tip
Clearing device data removes current configuration and user data. Use it only when intentionally required.
